Re: price increese
Mon, April 25, 2005 - 10:09 PMya, i don't think anyone should have to pay $3 for a coffee in that environment. lines as long as 10+ people, neighborhood crazies coming in, no real "cafe" environment....
we love phil. but perhaps some environmental/cosmetic improvements before the increase? -

Re: price increese
Mon, April 25, 2005 - 10:18 PMI wonder if the price rise will reduce the lines any? If we vote with our pocketbooks... -

Re: price increese
Tue, April 26, 2005 - 12:23 AMI doubt it will stop people from going. It certainly won't stop me. I haven't been going this past week due to illness and a high level of move-related activity, but, in the words of the Governator, I'll be back!!! -

Phil Phooey
Wed, April 27, 2005 - 11:57 AMIt's just sucking a tip away from Phil's hardworking staff. After you've paid a Starbuck's price for a cup of drip java, there ain't a lot left over...
...and yeah, neighborhood crazies, a lack of amenities, etc. Phooey. -

Re: Phil Phooey
Wed, April 27, 2005 - 12:16 PMHeresy! Phil'z drip coffee is better than any espresso I've ever had. I'm willing to pay $2.50 for a small-- I can't handle the amount of caffeine in a large anyway.
I was there last night and I wanted to ask Phil if he was giving a raise to his staff. But he gave me my coffee at the old price, so I didn't want to harass him. -

Re: Phil Phooey
Wed, April 27, 2005 - 3:30 PMwell, muddy waters has an apologetic sign up saying that the prices went up because coffee beans went up. -

Re: Phil Phooey
Wed, April 27, 2005 - 10:04 PMOh, is this like the price of gas going up when crude oil goes up? And when the cost of crude drops, the retail price of gas takes months to go back down. -

http://sfrip.tribe.net/ and prices of gas

Friends,
For your information, the idea of requiring city employees to be residents of the city they work for is not a new concept.
Here are just a few links I found today, which do not require, as my intiative does, that city employees whose income exceeds local cost of living income be required to be residents. Actually,I am hoping that we can find some legal council on these matters, and Matt Gonzalez seems like a good place to start:

Thu, April 28, 2005 - 8:39 PMWhat the hell are you talking about? Does this have anything to do with Phil'z Coffee? -

Re: Price of gas? How about prices of city employess of San Francisco
Thu, April 28, 2005 - 9:04 PMDAVID!!!!
There's a tribe for every post. You do your peers on Tribe a favor when you post only politics to political tribes, art to arts, kink to kinky and so forth. When somebody posts innappropriate/non-contextual theads or replies, totally unrelated to their specific tribe, I'm coolly motivated to ignore them regardless, which I've done here with your counter-Phil's rant. And thus is your message lost. -

Re: Price of gas? How about prices of city employess of San Francisco
Thu, April 28, 2005 - 9:31 PMI respectfully suggest that David is an obsessive crank who means well.

many thanks for your responses and suggestions.
did not mean to post innapporiate/non contextual stuff tonight.....perro, i have to admit that i am not sure how to navigate tribes just yet, so, as you see, i am " down's syndrome computer " skills, going in all directions, mainly because my hood and my community is immenant risk, as you you know...so please let me know what you think we should do on the issues of, well, not sure exactly the issues, but here is link to local community:

Obsessive Compulsive Municipal Info Disorder (OCMID)
Fri, April 29, 2005 - 11:24 AMDavid, you just did it again. Remember, "And thus your message is lost"? Well I read your post (which obviously meant well) and ignored your links again on principle.
Advice: join an SF community politics tribe or somesuch and post all of this information there. If you can't find one, go to Tribes and click "start tribe". I've started half a dozen. This will get your messages to people who may read them and possibly follow through, unlike when you post this stuff in tribes devoted to a favorite bar, taqueria or coffee place.
Also, I take my Phil's coffee with everything. -

Re: Obsessive Compulsive Municipal Info Disorder (OCMID)
Fri, April 29, 2005 - 11:42 AMDavid PM'ed me demanding to know what my "community concerns" are, as if that was the only way to measure the worth of an individual. -
